Natural cures for insomnia.
Posted on June 18th, 2007 @ 10:37 pm

Im not sure about all of you guys out there, but I get quite a lot of insomnia. Its extremely frustrating and it makes life hard. There are not a lot of easy ways to help insomnia, most of them are habit forming and just downright bad for you.

Remember, just because you can buy it over the counter doesnt mean its good for you.

Some natural remedies for insomnia are:
Valerian root. Ive used this. Its very stinky..like old feet. But its been used for 1000 years, and works very well.
Eat turkey as a bedtime snack!
Melatonin. A very popular and natural sleep aid.
Calcium
Chamomille.

Check them out!

Small Haitus
Posted on June 18th, 2007 @ 1:11 pm

Hello,

I am back after a small, unannounced haitus. I went out of town for a few days but now I am back and in action.

I do have a few tips for you today.

If you are looking to get away from sugar, then Stevia may be for you:

Stevia, which is also known as sweetleaf, honeyleaf or sugarleaf is a herb from South America that is said to be a couple of hundred times sweeter weight for weight compared with cane sugar. To put that into context, a teaspoon of refined Stevia powder is about the same as a cup of sugar in terms of sweetening ability. It contains no calories and refined Stevia products have no bitter after-taste.

I want to ride my bicycle.

Bicycles are fun to ride. And now, in todays fast paced world with our rising gas prices, they make a better alternative to the car when you just feel like going for a ride around the neighborhood. Everyone loves bikes. They not only provide hours of entertainment, but they are GREAT exercise and are necessity in anyones work out routine, and may be all the work out you need, really.

I own two bikes, and I love them dearly. One of them is a Mongoose BMX style bike, which I honestly do not ride. My boyfriend rides that mostly. However, my beautiful bike is a vintage Western Flyer cruiser bike. The cruiser bike is by far my favourite type of bicycle. At XYZ Bikes they make tons of awesome bicycles which are very affordable. Their customer base is mostly in California but they have loyal customers all over the USA. Ive been browsing the site for some time now, and my favourite bikes that ive seen are the classic beach cruisers. They have a vintage body style and great paint jobs. Quality bikes.
If youre looking for a new bike and you want something affordable, quality and beautiful, then my personal reccommendation is xyzbikes.com

Benefits of Broccoli
Posted on June 10th, 2007 @ 12:24 pm

Add Broccoli to every meal! Its extremely healthy and scientists now think that broccoli may have more to offer than other veggies.

When it comes to basic nutrients, broccoli is a mother lode. Ounce for ounce, boiled broccoli has more vitamin C than an orange and as much calcium as a glass of milk, according to the USDA’s nutrient database. One medium spear has three times more fiber than a slice of wheat bran bread. Broccoli is also one of the richest sources of vitamin A in the produce section.

But the real surprise is this vegetable’s potent cancer-fighting components.

I personally think that adding a little broccoli to everything makes it better. A lot of people dont like it, but I beg to differ! It makes a healthy snack, as well as a healthy addition to any meal.

Green Air Fresheners.
Posted on June 6th, 2007 @ 11:06 pm

Lets face it. The majority of air fresheners that can be purchased at your local supermarket do not destroy odors. They simply mask them. All while poisoning your immediate enviornment.

Most commercial airfresheners contain a variety of toxins you probably dont even know about. Look on an air freshener bottle, pick a few out, and google them. See what comes up..

A few tips for greener living when it comes to freshening your home, here are a few ideas:
Air flow. Open windows!
Natural Potpourri
Use baking soda to soak up acidic spills

Some of these things are no brainers…but think about it.

As all of you know, I am in the process of starting to make my own soap and try to sell it online, I guess you could say its a VERY small business venture/personal project ive decided to embark upon and im very excited about it…

While looking around the net for a web directory that covered ALL sorts of business categories I came across atlist.org, a web directory with tons of sites for me to browse. My personal favourite is their arts and culture section and restaurants, bars and clubs. I think its pretty safe to say that atlist.org is the best business and consumer web directory out there right now. Next time, atlist.org.

Dandilion Brew
Posted on June 5th, 2007 @ 5:48 am

Here is an intersting health tip I received from a friend..

For a natural (even though its sort of weird) concoction that does wonders for your liver just do the following:

pick about 20-30 nice yellow dandilions, wash them to get any bugs or ants or anything off..
fill a sealable jar (like a mason jar) halfway with water
put the dandilions in the water
let them sit in the sun for about three days.

The product will be a fermented dandilion drink that detoxifies your liver. Doesnt taste too bad either!

Science gadgets for our lives.

I remember on my 12th birthday all I wanted was a microscope and a telescope. I got both of them that year, and I cant begin to explain the joy both of them brought me. They opened my eyes to limitless things about our own earth, from the sky, to the ground.
I think that science related gadgets are a great gift for anyone you love, and even yourself. They open your eyes to the world around you and you may spot something you never even knew existed!
Things like binoculars, telescopes and microscopes just never get old. They really have limitless potential and now theres an awesome new product out on the market by Meade called MySky. Its like a personal planetarium! MySky is like having an astronomer right next to you describing things about our night sky. They are astronomical binoculars! It has a full color LCD screen, and a computerized telescope..and I say its pretty darn cool!
Skip on over to OpticsPlanet.com to check it out, along with other science gadgets that allow you to explore our unknown.
